Agriculture and Food in the UK
Breeze and Freeze has been producing visual media for the agricultural industry for the past 10 years and is committed to the sector. Company director, Ian Damms has over 30 years of experience of the industry and with his team at Breeze and Freeze continues to produce programmes for some of the key organisations in UK agriculture.
One of these programmes titled "Beyond the Farm Gate, The Famer and You" was produced for the Women's Farming Union and, funded by the Home Grown Cereals Authority (HGCA) some 3 years ago as a DVD to give schools an insight into the industry. This page brings the modules from the DVD to the internet. We hope you enjoy it and use it as a resource to help to spread the word about the richness and diversity of the British Agricultural Industry.
The programme looks at the background to the industry, covers the key sectors and looks at its history, including the 1947 agriculture act the influence of the European Community on agriculture in the UK right through to modern agriculture and how it is changing to incorporate modern environmental policy. Key to the programme is the vital role that our farmers play in the production of food and their importance for the future of the industry.
